Pound went to the University of Pennsylvania for two and years and then received his degree in 1905 from Hamilton College.He then taught for two years at Wabash College.Ezra went to Venice and ended up in London where he edited in1914.Also, in 1914 he married Dorothy Shakespear.Cathay, one of his works that was based off of sinologist Ernest Fenollosa, was published in 1915.In 1917 Pound became the editor of the Little Review in London.After that Ezra moved to Paris in 1920, then on to Italy in 1924 and occupied himself with Fascist Politics.He then became influenced by Asian poetry and supported free meter and more imagery in poems.In 1921 , one of his many poetic works was published and in 1925 the first section of , work from his whole life, was published.During World War II Ezra made broadcasts against America on the radio.He was soon arrested in 1945 for being a traitor and at first could not leave Pisa, but then was brought to America.His mental status caused him to be put in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington D.C.In 1958, following nonstop pleas to release Pound from the hospital, he could finally leave.He went to Venice, Italy and stayed there until he died in 1972.Ezra was said to be one of a few very important poets during the 1900s, despite his controversial life.
